Preparing for your skincare appointment
PREPPING FOR AN AIRBRUSH TAN:
Wear loose, dark clothing and flip flops.
Exfoliate your entire body the night before.
Do not wear lotions, oils or deodorants as this will hinder the application of the tan.
PRESERVING YOUR TAN:
Put dark colored sheets on your bed because color can transfer to clothing and linens before the first shower.
Do not shower for 12-24 hours as the tan will darken the longer it sits on the skin and 50% will come off within the first shower.
Moisturize your skin after the first shower to help lock in the remaining color.
Tan will last 7-10 days depending on your level of activity.
PREPARING FOR HAIR REMOVAL:
All medications for acne or aging (retinols) must be ceased one week prior to hair removal. Accutane users CANNOT be waxed on any part of the body for 1 year after the last dose.
Exfoliate body parts to be waxed to make removal easier.
Come clean and showered or “freshened up” for bikini and Brazilian waxes.
Avoid sun exposure or indoor tanning for one week before hair removal and for 3 days after.
If on any antibiotics, you must postpone hair removal until a week after the last dose.
Any open wounds, cuts, abrasions, herpes lesions, and fever blisters present, will be rescheduled for when the lesions have healed.
Avoid sun exposure for 3 days and apply sunscreen.
Avoid intimacy, tight clothing, and exercise for 24 hours after bikini and Brazilian waxes to prevent the spread of bacteria and friction.
In the event of a reaction apply cool compresses, Benedryl cream or hydrocortisone 1%. Aloe is also helpful in calming irritated skin.
Exfoliate areas of the body that were waxed 3 days post wax to deter ingrown hairs.
